mid19th century. Full color. Each panel has pictures around the edge and a pair of hands in the middle. The panels were designed to be held up to a light source which would then project an image on a wall which would appear to move as the person holding the panel moved a tab up and down. The images are the same as those made by holding one's fingers in a certain position to make an animal or person. The panels are labeled: Our Bunny, Bossy, Hiawatha, Vic the Greyhound, The Judge, Jumbo (elephant), Billy Whiskers, and The Soldier Boy. VG, with only very minor wear on some corners except for one panel which as half of one finger torn away. A great example of a forgotten pastime. A poignant reminder--children and adults gathered together in the evening watching humorous shadows--of a gentler era than our own. (a6431)
