Boston 1814 1st Rowe and Hooper. Pronounced at St.Petersburg in honor of General Moreau Translated from the French to English. Jean Victor Moreau, b. 1763, had an interesting life. He was a French soldier of Revolutionary and Napoleonic armies until 1800 when he headed a Republican and Royalist conspiracy against Napoleon and was exiled. He then lived near Trenton, New Jersey, from 1805-13, when he entered the Russian service (!) and was killed at the Battle of Dresden in August, 1813.
