Browne, a compiler of a bibliography of State Consitutional Conventions, and author of a genealogy and history of the Brown/Browne family of Granville, New York here provides a history of early Saybrook, Connecticut. There are chapters on Saybrook and the Dutch, the local Native Americans, the Fenwicks and the Connecticut Colony. Large4to., 229 leaves, in original three-ring binder. Includes extensive footnotes. Laid in are 6 newspaper articles about Saybrook and pre-colonial Connecticut history and 6 letters to/from Browne about the book. Good, a few leaves are detached.
