no date. Laid in: obituary notice for author's mother, Mrs. Maud Furniss Dow, married to Alexander Dow, dated Sept 27, 1951. "A daughter Miss Florence Dow of Darien is her only survivor." Rockside is part memoir, part philosophical artistic musings, the pursuit and collection of antiques. For some reason, Mrs. Dow is apparently confined to her bedroom. 4to., 104 leaves (rectos only ), purple-toned mimeo typescript. Illustrated with 35 original mounted photographs and 2 photo illustrations, color-decorated calf leather suede over paper cover. silk ribbon binding. Photographs are of her?, relatives, family homes, room interiors, and many photos of antiques - sculptures, faiance, cups, native american baskets, pewter mugs, boxes -and some flower arrangements. Dow writes: "All is know is that life is full of disappointments, full of discipline to those already burdened, and if I must wait behind my bars until the grim locksmith, whose touch reduces all to submission, releases me, I will try to accept my fate, thankful for the sweets that have come to me."
