I. 4to., 50 leaves (carbon on rectos), foldout tables, bound with metal clasp; II. about 20 leaves (carbon on rectos) plus numerous foldout tables and many original photographs, bound with two rings. Many of the original photos (mostly shoes and clothing) are loose (i.e., detached from the stiff paper on which they were mounted). The original printed covers are included but they are detached. This volume has very long Annual Report of Edwin M Stanton, Secretary of War (235p.) as well the Quartermaster Report (131p.), and Contingent Expenses of the War Department (169p.) Many charts in the text as well as foldout map of Fort Morgan, foldout sketch of Mine near Petersburg, Virginia, and 20 foldout tables (eg, Table no 20 shows measurements of chest, heights and ages of recruits, substitutes and draftees by state). Good, binding secure and text clean; cover soiled and a bit discolored. Contains a huge amount of technical detail about the war. (a90165)
